Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information AccraLife (“AccraLife,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you use the AccraLife game and related services (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1.Who This Applies To
The Service is restricted to players who are 18 or older and is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will suspend or delete it. See our Terms of Service for the full age requirement.
2.Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information
- your username and password (your password is hashed and managed by our identity provider, Neon Auth / Better Auth — AccraLife does not store it directly);
- your email address, if you choose to provide one (it is optional — if you don’t provide one, your account is assigned an internal, non-receiving address under the @accra.life domain so the account record has an email field).
Gameplay information
- your character and avatar customization choices;
- gameplay data such as your character’s stats, inventory, in-game transaction history, owned virtual property/businesses/vehicles, and progress;
- chat messages you send to other players, and posts you make to the in-game social feed (“Video Gist”);
- your character’s approximate in-game location and online/offline presence, which is shared only with other players whose characters are at the same in-game location as you — it is never broadcast to the whole player base or shown on any public, game-wide map.
Technical information
- your IP address, used to apply rate limits that protect the Service from abuse (for example, automated scripts spamming an action);
- a single session cookie that keeps you logged in, set and managed by our identity provider.
We do not collect real payment card numbers, bank account numbers, or other real financial account information through the Service, because the Service does not currently process real payments of any kind. See our Terms of Service, Section 4 (Virtual Currency and In-Game Items).
3.How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- operate the Service — create and maintain your account, run the game simulation, and show your content to the other players it’s meant for (for example, delivering your chat messages to their recipient);
- maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including detecting and preventing cheating, abuse, and automated attacks, and enforcing rate limits;
- communicate with you about your account, if you’ve provided a real email address, for things like account security notices; and
- comply with legal obligations that apply to us.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your gameplay data or chat content to build advertising profiles.
4.Who We Share Information With
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, with the following kinds of service providers, bound to protect it appropriately:
- Our database and hosting provider, which stores account and gameplay data on our behalf;
- Our identity provider (Neon Auth / Better Auth), which manages login sessions and password security;
- Our real-time messaging relay, a separate service that delivers live chat messages and presence updates between players currently online — it relays this data live but is never the permanent record of it; our database always is.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AccraLife, our players, or the public. If AccraLife is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, player information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy you are notified of.
5.Data Retention
We keep your account and gameplay information for as long as your account is active, so the Service can function. If you delete your account (see Section 6), we remove or anonymize your personal information as described there. We may retain de-identified records (for example, ledger/transaction records with personal identifiers removed) for longer, where needed to keep the in-game economy’s accounting internally consistent, since in-game transactions are linked to one another.
6.Your Rights, Including Deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time using the account-deletion feature in the Service. When you do:
- your Neon Auth login identity (your actual password credential) is revoked immediately, so you can no longer log in;
- your character and its gameplay data are deleted;
- your account’s personal information — username, email, and password credential — is anonymized, so it’s no longer tied to you; and
- underlying transaction/ledger records are retained in de-identified form, as explained in Section 5, rather than deleted outright — this keeps the shared in-game economy’s accounting consistent for other players, and no longer identifies you once your account information has been anonymized.
If you have questions about what deleting your account does and does not remove, you’re welcome to ask before deleting — see Section 10 for how to reach us. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as the right to request a copy of it or to correct inaccurate information. We will honor valid requests consistent with this Policy and the law that applies to you.
7.Cookies
The Service uses one session cookie, set by our identity provider, to keep you logged in between visits. It is necessary for the Service to function and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
8.Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing handled by our identity provider and access controls on our systems. No method of storing or transmitting data is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
9.International Data
AccraLife and the infrastructure it runs on may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in a country with data-protection laws that differ from those of your own country. These Terms are governed by, and we process data consistent with, the laws of Ghana, as set out in our Terms of Service.
10.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where practical, take reasonable steps to let players know. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
11.Contact
AccraLife does not yet have a dedicated privacy contact address published. We will publish one here as soon as it exists. Until then, any privacy questions or deletion/access requests beyond what the account-deletion feature already provides cannot currently be routed anywhere — this will be corrected before the Service is available to the public.
